The Williams School Celebrates the Dedication of the Rotolo Tennis Center

The Williams School celebrated the dedication of the Rotolo Tennis Center at its Bloomingdale Campus on October 16, bringing together students, families, faculty, staff, coaches, donors, and friends to mark the completion of a new home for Williams tennis and racquet sports.

Featuring six tennis courts and four pickleball courts, the Rotolo Tennis Center gives Williams student-athletes dedicated space to practice and compete while creating new ways for students and the broader community to enjoy Bloomingdale Campus.

The afternoon celebrated not only the completion of the Center, but also the people who helped bring it to life and the students who will make it their own.

Head of School Mark Fader welcomed guests and reflected on the possibilities that continue to take shape at Bloomingdale Campus. He also recognized representatives from Lyme Shores and Williams tennis coaches for their support of the program and its student-athletes.

Athletic Director Heather DeLaurentis spoke about Williams tennis before introducing team captains Sabine Balentine ’27, Hudson Foisie ’28, Sadie Rotolo ’27, and Annie Shay ’27.

Each captain reflected on what it means to be a Williams student-athlete and what having a dedicated home for tennis means to their teams. Their remarks brought the focus of the afternoon back to the students at the heart of the project and the experiences the new courts will make possible for current and future players.

The Rotolo Tennis Center is named in recognition of the leadership and generosity of Lindsey and Jon Rotolo, parents of Sadie Rotolo ’27. Their investment helped make the project possible and supported the School’s continued vision for Bloomingdale Campus.

During the ceremony, Lindsey Rotolo shared her family’s motivation for supporting the project and what it meant to see the Center completed.

The dedication also recognized the families and donors whose philanthropy helped bring the facility to life. Campaign Officer Claire Gadrow announced the naming of each of the Center’s six tennis courts as engraved pavers were unveiled:

Court 1: The Leeming Family

Court 2: The Kelsey Family

Court 3: In Memory of Luba Corso, Williams Grandparent

Court 4: Sadie Rotolo ’27

Court 5: The Family of Annie Shay ’27 and Robby Shay ’25

Court 6: Marin Raynor ’27 and Tony Raynor ’30

Together, these gifts reflect the generosity of families who believe in what is possible for Williams students and in the future of Bloomingdale Campus.

The ceremony concluded where the next chapter of Williams tennis will unfold: on the courts. Balentine, Foisie, Shay, and Rotolo volleyed as guests raised an apple cider toast to the new Center.

For Williams student-athletes, the Rotolo Tennis Center is more than a new facility. It is a place to practice, compete, grow as teammates, and continue building a program they are proud to represent.

The dedication also marks another meaningful step in the evolution of Bloomingdale Campus. As Williams continues to invest in the student experience across its two campuses, spaces like the Rotolo Tennis Center create new ways for students to challenge themselves, connect with one another, and make their Williams experience their own.
