Three New Faculty Members Join The Williams School

The Williams School welcomed three new faculty members to the community for the 2026–27 academic year. Valerie Remillard, Eliza Smith ’06, and Thomas Woessner bring experience across the arts, academics, and athletics to their roles at Williams.

Valerie Remillard joins Williams as theater teacher after several years at The Prout School in Rhode Island. She earned her undergraduate degree in theatre from Wheaton College and has directed summer theater programs for many years, bringing both classroom and production experience to the Williams performing arts program.

Eliza Smith ’06 returns to Williams as a Middle and Upper School mathematics teacher after a decade at Tilton School in New Hampshire. A Williams alumna, Smith earned her undergraduate degree from Franklin & Marshall College and previously taught at Williams for six years. Her return brings her back to a community she knows both as a student and an educator. 

Thomas Woessner joins Williams as assistant athletic director and English teacher following ten years of teaching humanities and coaching at The Governor’s Academy in Massachusetts. He earned his undergraduate degree from Connecticut College, where he also played lacrosse, and a master’s degree in education from Boston College. 

As the academic year gets underway, Remillard, Smith, and Woessner are already becoming part of daily life at Williams, connecting with students in the classroom, on the stage, and through athletics. We are excited to welcome them to the community and to the many roles they will play in the life of the school.
