Marketing Communications Associate

 

OVERVIEW

  • Twelve-month administrative position with occasional weekend and evening hours
  • Reports to the Assistant Head of School for Enrollment & Advancement, accountable to the School’s Advancement Team that oversees the Lifecycle of School Engagement – Enrollment, Marketing Communications, and Development and Alumni Engagement

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The objectives of the Advancement Team are to engage, recruit, and maintain mission appropriate students and families to Williams and grow the School’s enrollment and donors/donations in order to maintain a strong community of stakeholders committed to the School’s core values and to insure financial sustainability for the institution. Primary responsibilities of the Marketing Communications Associate include:

  • Coordinate and implement community engagement events/activities focused on lead generation (outreach), recruitment, enrollment, and development
  • Develop and publish content for the School’s website and microsites, social media, and other digital mediums (weekly and quarterly newsletters, annual report and magazine) as well as print mediums (promotional materials, publications, gifts/premiums, etc.)
  • Oversee Blackbaud database management and data input for Enrollment Management and Development/Alumni Engagement 
  • Assist with Market research projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Superb skills in writing/editing, publication design and layout, social media, photography and media relations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Passion for results, strong work ethic, and a winning attitude
  • High level of professional confidentiality
  • Organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven marketing communications and engagement event/activity planning/management skills 
  • Writing skills and the ability to communicate in a tone that accurately reflects the School
  • Working knowledge of digital media and communications design and data management platforms (examples: Blackbaud, HubSpot, Google Suite, Canva, etc.)
  • Basic photography/videography skills (mainly for social media purpose)
