Performing Arts Overview

Expanding the realm of theatre, music, and dance.

The Williams Performing Arts program pushes students to learn all aspects of performance and production. Students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular offerings such as the Middle School Musical, Fall Play, Compchorea (Student-Composed Music and Student-Choreographed Dance Performance), the Spring Musical, and Enviro (Site-Specific Dance & Drama Performance). Juniors and Seniors may be invited to leadership roles in any of these productions, acting as Student-Directors or Choreographers, Assistant-Directors, and more. As the arts are part of our academic curriculum, students who take production class provide all technical aspects of the performances. Beyond the structure of performance and production skills, the Arts department at Williams aims to instill creativity, curiosity, a variety of problem solving skills and communication skills that can apply to all facets of students’ lives.
